It took months of planning, days of dreaming (and squeezing in some precious bike time), plus long nights spent putting together the pioneer issue of what we hope will be the first of many more.

So here it is—Mountain Bike Philippines, your guide to Philippine trails and life on all kinds of off-road bike lanes.

We’ve tailored this premiere issue around the idea of historic firsts. Jan Castro recounts the highs and dangerous lows of his first ride along the single tracks of the La Mesa Nature Reserve. Galo Recto recalls being appropriately awed the first time he stepped into the Whistler Mountain Bike Park, widely considered the best in the world, in Canada’s British Columbia.

And the trail talk continues as Padmapani L. Perez writes about the vibrant bike life in Baguio and its surrounding trails, and long-term biker Victor Paterno shares some interesting insights on great trails and epic rides.

We’ve also packed the issue with lots of bike love—19 pages of stuff you know you need, no matter what others tell you. We’d like to think of this adventure of putting the magazine together as the trailhead of a long, eventful and exciting single-track, and we’re looking forward to a nice long ride with you!
